Racing to save lives
2006 to Present. Started the project called “RACING TO SAVE LIVES”. As it used to worked in Colombia, the project helps young kids, from public schools (ages 10 to 15) to learn what is to drive safe.
The project, funded with Mr Echeverry’s own money, brings young kids a minimum of ten times to the real racing track, Where professional race car drivers teach them how to drive, what mistakes never to make and how to stay always defensive, never aggressive.
Kids really learn that races take place only in a race track, under controlled environment, they learn how to control the cars under wet or slippery conditions. Many, many lives are being saved and will be saved.
According to the United Nation’s Director of Prevention of Hurt and Violence, “ more than four hundred thousand smaller young people of 25 years, die because of the traffic in the highways worldwide, per year. The majority are drivers!”
